We are designing a book of our websites best content over the last ten years. I am designing the layouts right now, but in the next 6 weeks we are going
to need someone to help putting the 256 pg book in InDesign and get it ready for the printers. We normally have a publisher do this for the past books, but the company decided to try this one in house. The problem is that we are a website and out of me and the other designer I'm the only one with much print/publishing experience and I just can't handle laying out this book alone and also work on webdesign.
Basically we are looking for a designer who knows InDesign pretty well and understands procedures for print. Typography is also a must ;)

Hey everybody -
I apologize for the somewhat mass email, but I finally got clearance on getting some design help and I am terribly excited to get the word out. Yes, I’m at work on memorial day, so that should tell you exactly how badly I need said help. And I’m emailing you because I a) respect your judgment in such things “design” b) you may be in a position to hear about fresh new designers looking to start out and/or c) I don’t think you’d send me someone who will make my life miserable. So if you know a fresh young graduate, or someone new enough in the biz to still be looking for an entry-level position, please send them my way. (It is a true entry-level position, but if there’s someone really fab who is more designer than junior designer I MAY be able to negotiate with the hiring team, but no guarantees there, I barely got this approved.)

But it’s heaven for a geek.

Temp Freelance at Time Inc. Content Solutions
We're looking for several freelance positions here at Time Inc. Content Solutions. All of them temporary.
The first is an immediate need : Junior designers/interns to help flow text, capable of making necessary adjustments on layouts if necessary. This person should have/had experience in magazines or a design studio and be able to work in InDesign, Photoshop.
The second is less immediate. We are often required to put together entire campaigns and presentations within a week to 10 days, which include magazine design, web design, accompanying collateral, etc. We are looking for very capable designers who are good collaborators and can help formulate and create these RFP's (requests for proposals). There are several people that we've used in the past, but I feel that we really need to start building a pool of talent.
The third: We have relied heavily on one source to help create some of the information graphics that we create here for many of our clients in finance. I am looking for recommendations of talented information graphics designers who can work for us on a freelance, project basis, out of house. They need to be people who really understand the subject matter. Not just artists who make things pretty.

A friend and I are launching a non-profit centered around increasing helmet use on motorcycles in Uganda. Motorcycle taxi accidents are a leading cause of death in the country, soon to eclipse AIDS and we think it's an important issue.
We have a business plan put together that involves creating a new helmet that is appropriate for the Ugandan climate, aesthetic, economy and culture. We'll be entering this plan into the Harvard Business School Social Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition and we'd love to have your class help us towards our entry if they can! I gave it some thought over the weekend and think there is a potential for three projects they could work on. If you decide you want to use us in another way, that's great too. Here they are in order of preference.
1 - Complete concept sketches / designs of the helmet and a mechanism to lock the helmet to the bike. We have some ideas and crude drawings, but need polish and detailing and a clean professional look. Timeframe: 2.5 weeks. I've included one of my pretty pictures to whet your imagination and prove why we need some sort of graphical help.
2 - Create a website. Pretty straight forward and big for us, but also time consuming! Timeframe, rest of semester
3 - Create a logo. We are tentatively called 1x1 Helmets and may already have a graphic artist on board, but this could be a good assignment anyways. Timeframe 2.5 weeks

Freelance Digital Artist Opportunity
Brand designer, Bettina Marks is developing design and products for major fashion and home fashion manufacturers and retailers and needs creative and competent digital artist to execute presentations on spec.
Project involves sizing original artwork (scanned into digital format) into dinnerware pieces, dinnerplate, soup and salad and mug and saucer using a template provided. B&W sketches of layouts desired are provided. Artist would work from an already designed layout and would make changes for client names and design concept series names.
Projects are ongoing.
