Masters Thesis Interviews/Project

As many of you know, I am in the process of completing my Masters Degree at Teachers College , Columbia University. As a requirement I must complete a special research project. I have chosen to include issues that I see regularly in the GLBTQ community. To complete this I am in need a several participants. If you yourself are interested or if you know of someone who may be interested please have them look over this information and contact me. The criteria and content of this project are listed below.

QUESTION:
How do post-adolescent individuals respond to visual representations of the GLBTQ community found in popular culture if provided with a structure for critical reflection on these representations?

PARTICIPANTS:
I am seeking a grouping of diverse participants between the ages of 16 -22§. Participants can identify as male,female, gay, straight, etc,etc. There are minimal restrictions on self identity.

§ Participants under 18 must provide parental consent.

REQUIREMENTS:
Over a three week period* participants will be asked to keep a formal journal (sketch and/or written) regarding the subject. A series of Three interviews/conversations will be scheduled on a weekly basis to discuss reflections made in the journal.

*Interviews will be scheduled in the months of Dec.'08 -Feb.'09 based on participant availability.
