Title: SENIOR DESIGNER

Division:   Bing Applications Experience Team

Location: Bellevue

The App Experience group (Appex) is seeking an exceptional Senior Designer with a proven track record for creating beautiful, elegant and impactful design solutions. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who is excited about creating very strategic Apps for the Windows 8 tablet experience.

You will work with Design, Product, and Engineering teams to create beautiful touch-based apps that facilitate what users want to do and delight them along the way. You will conceptualize and design original ideas that bring simplicity and ease of use to complex design issues. You will be responsible for creating the design direction for at least one key strategic app, creating design deliveries at various level of fidelity – from quick concepts that communicate initial ideas to highly crafted aspirational designs of the desired end user experience.

Your design work is clean, focused and inspiring to others. The candidate must be a thought leader and craftsperson. Applicants must feel very comfortable leading design through all phases of the product design cycle. You can easily switch from micro to macro - from understanding the strategic value of our organization's app strategy to creating design systems that are scalable, extensible through to finessing visual designs at a pixel level.

Your work is best in a participatory and highly collaborative environment – you inspire colleagues through your design vision and collaboration, to refine and iterate and steward designs through to an immaculate final implementation.

Requirements:

·         8+ years' experience of Product design with a minimum of 5 years' experience with online services.

·         Strong command of visual design capabilities, including composition, layout information hierarchy, typography and color.

• Superb information design abilities, fastidious and efficient production and optimization habits, and impeccable execution

·         Deep understanding and experience of a user-centric approach to design and an understanding of how to apply user research data.

·         An ability to create/ prototype design stories that articulate the desired user experience to the project team and stakeholders.

·         Strong collaboration skills and a proven ability to lead, inspire, and nurture teams with direction, vision and planning.

·         A working understanding of HTML and experience with agile engineering methods is essential. CSS skills would be a plus but not essential.

·         Excellent verbal/ written communication and presentation skills.

·         Passion for design and ability to effectively share your point of view and expertise with project team members.

·         Highly proficient with Adobe Creative Suite software.

The AppEx Design group is seeking an exceptional visual designer with a proven track record for creating beautiful, elegant and impactful designs. The role & requirements:·      

·         5+ years of experience in product, experience, content creation

·         5+ years of experience with the Adobe suite of tools

·         Bachelor's degree in Visual Design, product design or related field.

·         Demonstrated proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools.

·         Extremely strong visual sensibilities, ability to use visual thinking, storyboards, sketching, and communication design

·         Use your abilities to identify new opportunities and generate innovative ideas that influence the design direction

·         Deep understanding of fundamental visual design disciplines (composition, typography, iconography, color,  layout, etc.)

·         Drive your work through the software development process, working as part of a multidisciplinary product development team of User Research, Product Planning, Program Management, Development and Test.

·         You must be able to work collaboratively with other designers, and work on multiple interrelated projects to completion on schedule.

·         You must be able to assess data from multiple sources, synthesize it, and develop strategies for your projects.

·         You must have strong work practices and design discipline. And a proven record of delivering innovative solutions on time for demanding and complex visual problems.

·         Highly detail-oriented with a passion for pixel perfection, self-motivated, highly organized, able to work in a team environment that is fast-paced with multiple projects.
