part time designer, columbia university press, now open to students and recent grads

Hi Gen,

As you know, I am leaving my position at Columbia University Press, and we are looking for someone to fill it in mid-January.

The press is located near Columbus Circle. It is a part time position (2-3 days) and students and recent grads are welcome to apply. The designer gets to design book covers, dust jackets, and interiors. Some other responsibilities include scanning art, doing castoffs and art analyses, filling out purchase orders and communicating with printers. It's a great place to work....everyone is super nice and you will learn a lot about book design and publishing. For the most part, you get a lot of creative freedom and can build a great portfolio full of published works.
