Senior Designer/Art Director Needed

B&G Design Studios, located in the Old City section of Philadelphia, is looking
for a Senior Designer / Art Director to produce consumer magazines + other related projects. Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about magazine design, loves typography and working with photographers and illustrators. Our candidate should have excellent design skills and strong motivation, plus good organizational skills and the ability to juggle several projects at once. Previous experience in magazine design is a must.

The candidate will be responsible for:
• Conceptualizing and commissioning photography and illustrations, and organize/track all art for each issue.
• Designing columns and feature pages for magazines and related marketing materials.
• Working closely with the Creative Director/Edit team to plan and produce magazines, meeting tight deadlines on a monthly basis.
• Proficient knowledge of working with and creating templates from scratch.

Candidate must be proficient in CS3 and Quark Xpress and have knowledge of Microsoft Office and Word. Knowledge in Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Flash and basic HTML is always a bonus. Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts or Graphic Design
strongly preferred.
